How to Upload Files to GoDaddy Web Hosting

By making your company’s site search engine-friendly, you will ensure that the site is the first thing potential customers see when looking on the Web for the products and services you offer.

Developing and designing your website can be an expensive investment, particularly if you just start. Business owners and individuals like you will have to create and maintain their websites in many situations. Once you’ve built your website, you’ll need to buy a hosting account and upload it to the server of the hosting provider. If you’ve already bought GoDaddy hosting and a domain name, you’re close to having your website live on the Internet.

GoDaddy provides a hosting service that you can use to build your business’ website. After you finish coding your website, you must upload the files and images to the GoDaddy server. You can use the built-in File Manager for browsing and uploading files to the hosting server on the GoDaddy account website. Once you have uploaded your website to the server the public view and access your pages and files. Here are the steps on how to upload website to GoDaddy:

1. Start a web browser, browse and sign-in to your Go Daddy account. Open your FTP client and enter the username and password of your GoDaddy account. You can use the built-in GoDaddy FTP client if you want to avoid using a third-party FTP client, but this is not suggested for large files. To access the Go to “Hosting” under “My Products” to access the GoDaddy FTP client. Press “Manage Account through your hosting account. Under “Content”, click “FTP Client.”

2. Click the “Web Hosting” link and click “Launch” under the domain name of your hosting account. You can see the Hosting Control Center which makes you access and edit files on the hosting server Go Daddy. Navigate to the database directory where your new website files are stored. In most circumstances, use the initial directory.

3. Click “FTP File Manager” in the Control Panel’s Tool section. Go to the folder on your hard drive that contains your website’s HTML files.

4. To select the folder you want to upload your website files, click a folder name in the folder tree.

5. To browse your computer for website files, click “Upload” from the menu bar. Visit your domain name to see if files are uploaded correctly. Under most circumstances, if you don’t see any changes, your site should be live instantly. Refresh your browser.

6. Double-click a file in the browsing window to select it. You can hold the “Ctrl” key, choose multiple files, then click “Open.”

7. To transfer your website files to the hosting server Go Daddy, click “Upload”.

8. Visit your domain name to see if the files have been uploaded correctly. Under most cases, if you do not see any updates, your page should be live instantly. Refresh your browser. Click on any link, especially internal links, to see if they work properly. If they don’t work, go back to the raw HTML file and correct it as needed.
