Last Saturday we happily sponsored AIGA Central PA’s 10th Annual Student Portfolio Review at The Ware Center in Lancaster, PA. The event brought together approximately 100 college students to have their work evaluated and critiqued by 30 of the top designers and art directors from the area. For the students in was an invaluable opportunity for feedback in preparation of their post college careers. For the reviewers it was an opportunity to help give back to their industry and local design community by reviewing work and offering direction for the next generation of designers. The event flowed seamlessly allowing students to sit one-on-one with a reviewer, proudly display their work, and explain their thought process behind each piece. They were then given constructive feedback on how to improve their work, make it more appealing to prospective employers, and more applicable to the current work environment. Fresh Roasted Hosting was floored by the pure energy and passion in the room from students and reviewers alike! We were lucky enough to sit in on several reviews from AIGA Central PA’s President Tim McKenna and MIND Development and Design’s co-owner Chad McComsey. It quickly became clear these individuals not only love what they do (and are damn good it) but are eager to give back to the community and the next generation. It was a real pleasure hearing Tim and Chad as they carefully complimented and critiqued pieces. In addition, we were blown away by the level and scope of work students put forward.

AIGA Student ReviewOverall, the event was a HUGE success and we were more than happy to be a part of it. As a big ‘thank you’ and proud sponsor of the event, Fresh Roasted Hosting is happy to extend a 50% discount to all student attendees and reviewers alike. We look forward to participating in future events and wish all students the best of luck as they continue to pursue their professional endeavors.
