What's a password manager? Print

  • 41

A password manager is an application that stores your passwords for later use.  This can be as simple as a file contianing a list of usernames and passwords, or it can be as sophisticated as a cloud-based storage platform with one-way encryption and automatic synchronization.  Many web browsers include password managers, but these are often insecure or easily compromised.
