Which is better: a dedicated server or co-location? Print

That all depends on your needs, tech skill, staff, and budget.  With a dedicated server, we're responsible for all hardware maintenance. If a hardware component fails, we're responsible for repairing and/or replacing it.  With co-location, you're responsible. If a component fails, you'll need to either travel to the datacenter to repair / replace it yourself, or ship the part to our datacenter and pay our remote hands fee to have the repairs made.  If you don't mind assuming the responsibility, co-location can save a fortune compared to the cost of a dedicated server.
